Recently a friend of mine picked up some Volk TE37 SL wheels for his R32 GTR.
Though it may be a source of drama among some die-hard fans,
there are some people who would never buy such expensive and high end rims for their own street car.
I've been told before that the Rota copy wheel, the Grid, is just as good for the price.
The Rota's weigh only a few pounds (2-3) more depending on size, but cost 1/3 that of the Volks.
All I can say is, once you get to see the real thing in person you can FEEL the difference.
Picking up the TE37 and seeing its amazing finished color, lightly chromed lip,
and its incredible lightweight in real life, definitely go to show the pictures online do it no justice.
Still though, anyone who knows me will know, I'm pretty... functional when it comes to auto part purchases.
I'd likely buy a few sets of tires for the lofty price of a high end set of wheels,
but still... those are some damn nice shoes for any ride!
BONUS:
One thought did occur to me when writing this post up,
for the price of a set of TE37's I could pick up a pretty sparkling example of a TE72,
there's one for sale on dorikaze.net that I would definitely rock old school.
For those not familiar, I'll just leave couple pics...
